Again, here is set down the right manner of dispensing the word, which must not be for the pleasing of men, but of God. Hence it appears that ministers of the gospel must not be men-pleasers, nor apply and fashion their doctrine to the affections, humors,54 and dispositions of men, but keep a good conscience and do their office.
