3. David then recalls the covenant faithfulness of God in his mighty acts on behalf of his people (2:23–24). God knows this, so why repeat it? Surely, in order to reinforce the memory and implications of these redemptive acts upon the heart of the one who prays, to stimulate faith and love towards the Lord! David reminds himself of, and in the process praises God for, his steadfast love towards Israel. This, in turn, is the heritage of the New Testament Christian, for it all points to Jesus Christ
