the consent of the volition, or “the consent of the will to the assent of the understanding” (cf. Jn 8:30–31, ASV). Saving faith, therefore, involves active personal trust, a commitment of oneself to the Lord Jesus Christ. But it is not the amount of faith that saves, it is the object of faith that saves.
