LESSON 25 NOTES ON THE CASES THE GENITIVE (1) The genitive is used (a) with several verbs expressive of sense or mental affections, e.g., ἀκούω, I hear; γεύομαι, I taste; θιγγάνω, I touch; ἐπιθυμέω, I desire; μνημονεύω, I remember; λανθάνω, I forget; (b) with verbs of accusing, and condemning, etc., whether of the person accused or of the charge. See, e.g., ἐγκαλέω in Acts 19:40, and κατηγορέω in John 5:45; (c) with verbs and adjectives of filling, lacking, etc., e.g., ἐμπίπλημι in
