Jesus’ ministry had three sides. His teaching and preaching communicated the Word of God, His healing and works of compassion demonstrated the power and love of God, and His selection and training of disciples paved the way for the founding of the church and the spread of the gospel of salvation. Luke now joins all three of these into the following section. First he tells of a miracle, then the recruitment of disciples, after
