Giving All believers should give, but God has entrusted the gift of giving only to some (Rom. 12:8). A person with the spiritual gift of giving is marked by liberality, a freedom to give of one’s resources, time, and energy. Jesus distinguished between giving and the gift of giving when He observed the Jews at the treasury in the temple (Luke 21:1–4). The rich gave much, but the widow manifested the gift of giving when she gave all she had. Her giving was motivated by love, thanksgiving, and worship.
