Administration The gift of administration, kybernēsis, is mentioned only once (1 Cor. 12:28). A related noun, kybernētēs, is rendered “helmsman” (Acts 27:11) and “shipmaster” (Rev. 18:17). The captain of a sailing vessel guided the ship on its intended course. Thus a person with the gift of administration has the Spirit-given ability to guide the local church toward its divinely intended mission.
