Finally, the seven-day structure of the event has unmistakable echoes of the creation account (Gen 1:1–2:3). This may point to a kind of completion: Israel’s journey from Egypt to land is complete in the symbolic act of taking Jericho.32 It may also indicate a connection between the “good” creation of Genesis 1 and the land Israel is about to enter.
