Paul specifically insists that “If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is the Eternal Lord and will believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” This book is written in the hope that many who never really have heard the gospel according to Paul may now hear it from you and come to believe with genuine, saving faith.

“So as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you who are Rome also, for I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ. It is the power of God unto salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.”* It is at this point where Paul first mentions the gospel that he begins to develop the theme of the gospel and to state its content.
