Treasures from 2 Samuel provides a history of King David’s reign. It highlights the successes of King David—as well as the fall of his kingdom as a result of his sin against Bathsheba.

Second Samuel chapter 11 is one of the most tragic chapters in the Bible. It is a record of ruin, a document of destruction, a passage of the promiscuity and perverseness of David. David commits adultery with Bathsheba and attempts to cover it up. His plan fails and he gives the order to have Uriah, Bathsheba’s husband, killed in battle. Other men were killed too in the cover-up process. This incident led to instability in the kingdom.
