the end times (see Dan. 8:26). See also v. 16, where “the latter days” is used, a phrase that frequently points to messianic times or to the times when Israel is regathered. From Ezekiel’s viewpoint, he was predicting a time in the very distant future—the end times. Unless the passage refers to spiritual warfare, the invasion of Israel and the subsequent time of confident and carefree peace are still future events.
