Church as completely apostasized rejected the Roman Mass and with it the sacrifice. But as far as we can ascertain, the ideas of priesthood and sacrifice as such were never attacked by Christians who wanted to be faithful members of the Catholic Church. Thus the only statements on the mass as a sacrifice we find in the “profession of faith” demanded from the Waldensians in 1208, and in the Creed of 1215 directed against the Albigensians and other heretics.
