THE GLORY OF GOD is the outward display or manifestation of His inherent perfections or attributes. His perfections are revealed in the world (“the heavens declare the glory of God,” Ps. 19:1) and in humankind (God “crowned him [man] with glory and honor,” 8:5). Because of God’s presence in heaven, “glory” is sometimes used as a synonym for heaven’s splendor (for example, Heb. 2:10). Moses wanted to see God’s glory, but he was told he could not see His face and live (Exod. 33:18, 20). Kābôd,
