Theology through Preaching is unavailable, but you can change that!

This carefully chosen collection assembles some thirty sermons by Colin Gunton with a foreword by Christoph Schwöbel. Together, they provide a broad overview of the Christian faith and reflections on the importance of theological preaching. The theological significance of these sermons will be of interest not only to preachers, professional and lay, but also to theologians and students.

In Christian faith the incarnation is retained in its spatio-temporal particularity as a story that happened once and then. It can neither be repeated nor be transformed into a universal principle valid at all times. But this particular spatio-temporal event, Christians claim, has an eschatological significance. It is determinative of God’s ultimate relationship to his creation. Therefore, it has a finality that cannot be surpassed. This finality is the basis for its eschatological universality.
