God does not dwell in his people in the OT, but he does dwell among them. This thesis is firmly supported by the usage of ruach (spirit) in the OT.13 Building on this conclusion, in this section I seek to establish three things: first, that the OT describes God dwelling in particular locations (e.g., Bethel, Mount Sinai, the tabernacle, the temple in Jerusalem); second, that in the OT the presence of the Spirit upon certain people marks those people out as extraordinary;
