Wesley believed that the Lord’s Supper included the concept of the real presence of Christ with the Eucharist—not in the elements, not the elements transformed into the actual body or blood of Jesus Christ as in the Catholic Mass, but nonetheless the spiritual presence of the Lord with the sacrament.
