Believing in Jesus for everlasting life occurs at a moment in time. A third distinction of Free Grace theology is that one is born again at a moment in time, not over the course of one’s lifetime. Thus perseverance in faith or perseverance in good works are not a condition of everlasting life. The very moment a person believes in Jesus, he is secure forever. Baptists call this “once saved, always saved.” Theologians call this “eternal security.” Thus if a person has ever believed in Jesus for everlasting
