stḗkō. This verb is a Hellenistic construct from the perfect of hístēmi and forms a substitute for it. It is rare in the LXX but occurs for “to stand still” in Ex. 14:13 and “to stand” in Judg. 16:26 and 1 Kgs. 8:11.
