In the NT reference is made to God’s hand only where OT sayings are adduced or OT usage is adopted. We find quotations at Lk. 23:46 (Ps. 31:5) and R. 10:21 (Is. 65:2). Only in Lk. and Ac. is there common mention of the hand of God, and here there can be little doubt but that OT expressions are deliberately adopted, Lk. 1:66; Ac. 4:28, 30; 7:50; 11:21; 13:11.
