While this book is primarily a biblical examination of hospitality to strangers and not a sociological analysis, I do attempt to make some suggestions about how hospitality might stimulate our imaginations to think more boldly and creatively about contemporary issues inside and outside of the church. The Scriptures emphatically reject xenophobia. The people of God are meant to show another way. Yet increasingly, some quarters in the North
