this he was not alone, for there were many others still left at that time who had been taught by the apostles. It was under this Clement that no small dissension arose among the brethren at Corinth. The Church of Rome wrote a very forceful letter to the Corinthians, [thus] uniting them in peace, renewing their faith, and proclaiming the tradition which it had but recently received from the apostles.9 This tradition proclaims one God almighty, the Creator of heaven and earth, the Fashioner of man,
