The purpose of the shaking is to reveal a purified church, to remove those things which can be removed and to leave a purified remnant church which will worship God acceptably. The church of Laodicea is the very last of a series of seven churches which depict the spiritual condition of the church from the time of the apostles to the return of Christ. Since Laodicea is the last church in the series, we should expect to find the shaking or purifying process there. Begin with Revelation 3:14, “To the
