The further history of this province is of some relevance to our discussion because the earliest Christian discussions of Paul’s Galatians were undertaken with a knowledge only of subsequent developments in the province. By this I mean that we need to be aware that Vespasian detached almost all of Pisidia from Galatia in A.D. 74 and about A.D. 137 Lycaonia Galatica was removed and added to an enlarged province of Cilicia.
