2. The question of meaning: Out of whose heart does the living water flow? The RSV translation leads to an interpretation that has the living water flowing from the heart of the believer. The punctuation of the NRSV, NJB, and others leaves this question open for the reader. Living water might flow from Jesus, to whom the believer has gone for refreshment. The “heart” (koilia) mentioned in the quotation would refer back to Jesus as the provider of drink. This would be the more likely meaning, but
