5:6 Humble interpersonal relations (vv. 2, 3, 5) are to be lived out under the mighty hand of God (observe therefore at the beginning of the verse). It is He who will exalt the humble in due time, that is, when the “Chief Shepherd appears” (v. 4). “The mighty hand of God” perhaps alludes especially to the Exodus, when deliverance came to Israel.
