Man commits sin against the God of heaven and earth. This is a crime against the Ruler of the universe, the One before whom angels fall and do homage—our Creator, our Savior, God. This is vastly, immeasurably greater than a crime against the ruler of a State or nation. All the purity of heaven, the holy in all God’s boundless universe, the justice and immutability of Jehovah, unite in saying that the guilty must suffer. He must pay the penalty of a broken law.
