To view Scripture as a “data dump”48 of theological truths, or pieces of a theological jigsaw puzzle waiting to be assembled in a systematic way,49 or as a mass of undigested theological facts ripe for systematizing50 is to misunderstand the very nature of Scripture. So it may appear wise, at first blush, to write off systematic theology as the product of an earlier rationalistic age and to decide not to include it in a missional curriculum.
