DIFFERENT COMMANDMENTS One reason Roman Catholics have trouble accepting this is because they divide the Ten Commandments differently. According to Catholics, and also to Lutherans, Exodus 20:3–6 is a single commandment. The prohibition against making idols is part of the commandment not to have any other gods (the way they make up the difference is by dividing coveting into two commandments).
