This was the annual feast of ingathering (Lev. 23:33–44; Deut. 16:13–15). On the eighth day of the Feast of Tabernacles, all Israel returned to their own homes, a feature that looked forward to the homecoming of Israel and of the nations coming back to the Lord. As Revelation 21:3 announces, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men” (translation mine).
