pastor who follows the plot of the narrative and presents the scenes and their significance in their inscripturated order will most readily transpose the meaning and appeal of the story. Furthermore, when the preacher understands the arrangement of the episodes and their contribution to the plot, then he can accurately give explanation and application that progressively build the biblical proposition—rather than a series of disjointed ideas that may contradict rather than complement each other.
