Having just encouraged us to fulfill God’s call on our lives (Ro 12:1–8) Paul immediately turns to address the quality of our relationships; because if we can’t work together harmoniously, everything he has just taught us falls apart. Yes, each of us must discover our calling, and yes, we need to pursue the full dimension of God’s plan; but if we don’t learn how to get along with each other, none of it matters. Love really is the highest quality (1Co 13:1–3, 13).
