Paul before Festus—Acts 25:1–12. A few years later, Felix is succeeded by Festus, and Paul must again defend both himself and the gospel itself against misrepresentation. Paul makes his defense by repeating familiar elements of the appeal he had made to Felix. He says he has done “nothing wrong against the Jewish law or against the temple or against Caesar” (Acts 25:8).
