2 Obedience The Believer’s Covenant The perfect companion to faith is obedience. The final stanza of the familiar hymn “Trust and Obey” summarizes quite well the partnership these two foundational attitudes have: “Then in fellowship sweet we will sit at His feet, or we’ll walk by His side in the way; what He says we will do, where He sends we will go—never fear, only trust and obey.” The line “what He says we will do, where He sends we will go” gives us a simple definition of spiritual obedience.
