In chapter 24:7, it talks about words being read; in verses 4 and 5, it talks about the sacrifices on the altar; this is in Exodus. And then, you have the covenant meal, and the blood is sprinkled. Again, the covenant, the law, is an integral part of the history and ritual of the people; and that history and ritual is recorded in the biblical text, while it’s not part of the covenant document in the ancient Near East.
