We can also call it “the five books of Moses.” And they’re placed at the start of the Bible. They introduce the story. So, the Pentateuch starts the ball rolling. It establishes, itself, foundational presuppositions for the rest of Scripture. It introduces the major characters. In fact, the first verse of the first chapter of the first book:
