Liturgy is the vehicle by which the public worship of God is performed. It may refer to an elaborate formal ritual such as the Eastern Orthodox Divine Liturgy and Roman Catholic Mass or a Protestant service, but it is not a term limited to Christian use. It can also refer to the daily Muslim salat (prayers) and the Jewish seder (order). As a religious phenomenon, liturgy is a communal ritual response to the sacred through activity reflecting praise, thanksgiving, supplication,
