Examine one of the most exciting and controversial books in the bible with Dr. Keener’s commentary on the book of Revelation. We should read Revelation in its original setting. This is one of our basic principles of Bible interpretation, a basic principle that we apply to other passages in the Bible. For example, Revelation names its audience: churches in Asia Minor. It’s written in Greek just like other parts of the NT. We don’t go to Philippians, where it names its audience, and allegorize the church in Philippi. We don’t allegorize letters, and yet here are letters in the book of Revelation to specific churches.
