We see, then, in Second Temple Judaism, the Judaism of Jesus’ day, an expanding theology of the resurrection given from a variety of different perspectives. Jesus and Paul certainly believed in the final resurrection, that God would one day raise the dead, that He would reward the righteous and judge the wicked. But from a Jewish perspective, the resurrection was always something that occurred at the end of time. A resurrection in time was almost unheard of.
