CHRIST’S CROSS WORK AN OBEDIENT WORK OF SACRIFICE (PRESUPPOSITION: HUMAN SIN AND GUILT) Many times throughout the New Testament, as we have already noted, Christ’s cross work is represented as a work of sacrifice. The following verses refer to Christ both as the “high priest” after the order of Melchizedek who offered himself up to God and as the “Lamb of God” who was made a “sacrifice” and an “offering” to God.
