Always beware of being more eager to do God’s will than God is for you to do it. The remarkable thing about the life of Our Lord was not that He was eager to do God’s will, but that He was obedient to do it. He never put His fingers across the threads of His Father’s providential order for Him and gave a tug saying—“Now I will help You,” and pulled the thing right out of His Father’s hands. He simply obeyed, leaving His Father’s wisdom to arrange all for Him. We rush in and say—I see what God wants
