Israel Needs the Gospel

10 Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for 1Israel is that they may be saved. For I bear them witness athat they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. For they being ignorant of bGod’s righteousness, and seeking to establish their own crighteousness, have not submitted to the righteousness of God. For dChrist is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.

For Moses writes about the righteousness which is of the law, e“The man who does those things shall live by them.” But the righteousness of faith speaks in this way, fDo not say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?’ ” (that is, to bring Christ down from above) or, g“ ‘Who will descend into the abyss?’ ” (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). But what does it say? h“The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): that iif you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the Scripture says, j“Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.” 12 For kthere is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for lthe same Lord over all mis rich to all who call upon Him. 13 For nwhoever calls oon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

About The New King James Version

The New King James Version is a total update of the 1611 King James Version, also known as the "Authorized Version." Every attempt has been made to maintain the beauty of the original version while updating the English grammar to contemporary style and usage. The result is much better "readability." It is noteworthy that the NKJV is one of the few modern translations still based on the "Western" or "Byzantine" manuscript tradition. This makes the New King James Version an invaluable aid to comparative English Bible study.
