Faith in the Lord’s Righteousness
To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David.
1 In athe Lord I put my trust; How can you say to my soul,
“Flee as a bird to your mountain”?
2 For look! bThe wicked bend their bow,
They make ready their arrow on the string,
That they may shoot 1secretly at the upright in heart.
3 cIf the foundations are destroyed,
What can the righteous do?
4 The Lord is in His holy temple,
The Lord’s dthrone is in heaven;
eHis eyes behold,
His eyelids test the sons of men.
5 The Lord ftests the righteous,
But the wicked and the one who loves violence His soul hates.
6 Upon the wicked He will rain coals;
Fire and brimstone and a burning wind
gShall be 2the portion of their cup.
He hloves righteousness;
3His countenance beholds the upright.
About The New King James VersionThe New King James Version is a total update of the 1611 King James Version, also known as the "Authorized Version." Every attempt has been made to maintain the beauty of the original version while updating the English grammar to contemporary style and usage. The result is much better "readability." It is noteworthy that the NKJV is one of the few modern translations still based on the "Western" or "Byzantine" manuscript tradition. This makes the New King James Version an invaluable aid to comparative English Bible study. |
