9 3Now when He rose early on the first day of the week, He appeared first to Mary Magdalene, hout of whom He had cast seven demons. 10 iShe went and told those who had been with Him, as they mourned and wept. 11 jAnd when they heard that He was alive and had been seen by her, they did not believe.
12 After that, He appeared in another form kto two of them as they walked and went into the country. 13 And they went and told it to the rest, but they did not believe them either.
14 lLater He appeared to the eleven as they sat at the table; and He rebuked their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they did not believe those who had seen Him after He had risen. 15 mAnd He said to them, “Go into all the world nand preach the gospel to every creature. 16 oHe who believes and is baptized will be saved; pbut he who does not believe will be condemned. 17 And these qsigns will follow those who 4believe: rIn My name they will cast out demons; sthey will speak with new tongues; 18 tthey 5will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; uthey will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”
About The New King James VersionThe New King James Version is a total update of the 1611 King James Version, also known as the "Authorized Version." Every attempt has been made to maintain the beauty of the original version while updating the English grammar to contemporary style and usage. The result is much better "readability." It is noteworthy that the NKJV is one of the few modern translations still based on the "Western" or "Byzantine" manuscript tradition. This makes the New King James Version an invaluable aid to comparative English Bible study. |
