The Works and the Word of God.
For the choir director. A Psalm of David.
1 The aheavens are telling of the glory of God;
And their bexpanse is declaring the work of His hands.
2 Day to aday pours forth speech,
And bnight to night reveals knowledge.
3 There is no speech, nor are there words;
Their voice is not heard.
4 Their 1aline has gone out through all the earth,
And their utterances to the end of the world.
In them He has bplaced a tent for the sun,
5 Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber;
It rejoices as a strong man to run his course.
6 Its arising is from 1one end of the heavens,
And its circuit to the 2other end of them;
And there is nothing hidden from its heat.
7 aThe law of the Lord is 1bperfect, crestoring the soul;
The testimony of the Lord is dsure, making ewise the simple.
8 The precepts of the Lord are aright, brejoicing the heart;
The commandment of the Lord is cpure, denlightening the eyes.
9 The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever;
The judgments of the Lord are atrue; they are brighteous altogether.
10 They are more desirable than agold, yes, than much fine gold;
bSweeter also than honey and the drippings of the honeycomb.
11 Moreover, by them aYour servant is warned;
In keeping them there is great breward.
12 Who can adiscern his errors? bAcquit me of chidden faults.
13 Also keep back Your servant afrom presumptuous sins;
Let them not brule over me;
And I shall be acquitted of dgreat transgression.
14 Let the words of my mouth and athe meditation of my heart
Be acceptable in Your sight,
Prayer for Victory over Enemies.
For the choir director. A Psalm of David.
1 May the Lord answer you ain the day of trouble!
May the bname of the cGod of Jacob set you securely on high!
2 May He send you help afrom the sanctuary
And bsupport you from Zion!
3 May He aremember all your meal offerings
And bfind your burnt offering 1acceptable!
2Selah.
4 May He grant you your aheart’s desire
And bfulfill all your 1counsel!
5 1We will asing for joy over your 2victory,
And in the name of our God we will bset up our banners.
May the Lord cfulfill all your petitions.
6 Now aI know that the Lord saves His anointed;
He will banswer him from His holy heaven
With the 1csaving strength of His right hand.
7 Some 1boast in chariots and some in ahorses,
But bwe 2will boast in the name of the Lord, our God.
8 They have abowed down and fallen,
But we have brisen and stood upright.
May the bKing answer us in the day we call.

About New American Standard Bible: 1995 UpdateThe New American Standard Bible, long considered a favorite study Bible by serious students of the Scriptures, has been completely revised and updated in this new 1995 translation. Preserving the Lockman Foundation's standard of creating a literal translation of the original Greek, Hebrew, and Aramaic manuscripts, the 1995 NASB provides a literal translation that is very readable. Formalized language and outdated words and phrases have been replaced with their contemporary counterparts. In short, the 1995 NASB is a Bible translation that is very conducive to word-by-word study and is also able to be read (and understood) by the whole family. |
