This was perhaps most admirably carried out by the apostle Paul, whose ambition it was to “present everyone mature in Christ” (Col 1:28). Finally, as the church disciples the nations, it is assured of its risen Lord’s continued spiritual presence until his bodily return: “And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (Matt 28:20b; see Deut 31:6).
