more slowly. Regeneration does not immediately take away all indwelling sin. The Bible is realistic. The apostle Paul, whose conversion was sudden and dramatic, even admitted to struggling with sin throughout his life (e.g., Rom. 7:15). But wherever the Spirit of God has given new life, there will always be transformation, even though the change may be slow at times. That is the key point that you must understand. The transition from the kingdom of darkness into God’s marvelous light (1 Pet. 2:9)
