Invocation (in the pastor’s own words or as follows): God most high, God most present, God of the glad, and God of the sad, we come to you today with thankful hearts for the life we now celebrate. We rejoice in the knowledge that you blessed this life with your saving goodness. We are lifted by the awareness of your continued goodness and mercy.
