The Call Even the most cursory review of Scripture shows the preeminence the call to ministry played in the lives and ministry of both the prophets and the apostles. Although the form of the call varied from person to person, it was always a prerequisite for entering the ministry. Moses heard a voice speaking to him from a burning bush (Exodus 3).
