We begin this journey by looking at the many illustrations of the resurrection on the third day in the Old Testament. Jesus specifically said that it was foretold in Holy Scripture that the Messiah would suffer death and afterwards be gloriously raised from death on the third day (Luke 24:21, 25–26, 44–46). Paul read the Old Testament in the same way. The apostle tells us that the Hebrew Bible is all about the gospel. And the gospel is the suffering of death followed by the glory of resurrection.
