to work that out in practice and in detail, and they say that the whole of one’s life is prayer. But it is not. Prayer, again, is a special action. It is right that one’s whole life should be lived for God. The demand of God is totalitarian, and we should love him with all our heart and mind and soul and strength. Yes, that is all right—the whole of life is to be lived in the service of God—but these particular actions are special, and we are taught about them in a special way in the Bible itself.
